 The inauguration of the Public Library of Bourj Hammoud took place on March 1, 2002 inside Levon and Sophia Hagopian College in the presence of the Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh.
On the inauguration day, the library had 12000 books. Today the number has almost doubled, and it includes various literary genres with different publications in four languages, Armenian, English, Arabic, and French.
 On the inauguration day the minister Ghassan Salameh donated 300 Arabic books to the library. Day after day the library has enriched with the donations that are done by nationalists and various institutions (Catholicosate, municipality of Bourj Hammoud, "Aztag" newspaper, World Vision) and by the occasional purchases done by the college.
The classification of the books is done according to either the literary genres, the writers' names, the titles of books, or the themes of the books.
With the worries of providing practical facilities to the readers and students the books are set in drawers according to their literary genres in the following classification:

Anyone can use the library by borrowing a book for one week without paying anything in return.
